UNECA African E-Network Project for NGMs
Following a series of UNECA regional workshops on ICT and Gender which was attended by the previous Principal Secretary of Social Affairs, Mrs Antoinette Alexis, the African E-Network Project was conceptualized and launched.

The objectives and outcomes of UNECA project are to:
  • Establish a regional e-network for National Gender Machineries (NGMs
  • Enhance knowledge management and communication strategies
  • Strengthen networking between NGMs at the sub-regional and regional levels
  • Enhance capacity of NGMs to utilize ICT to facilitate their roles as advocates and catalysts of gender equality, and
  • Enhance potential for sharing experiences, lessons learnt and good practice between NGMs
To facilitate the implementation of this project the UNECA has kindly donated equipment and funding to the Gender Secretariat. In accordance with the terms of the UNECA project following the donation, the Gender Secretariat has established an E-Network Team, composing of representatives from NGM and ICT.

Under this project, the Gender Secretariat in collaboration with the Department of ICT, has developed the Gender Seychelles website, which will be linked to the African E-network portal.

The Gender Seychelles website will be launched in a series of phases, starting from a static site to a more progressively dynamic site. Please let us know what you think of this site by forwarding any comments or questions to us.
